Our loving mother and grandmother, Eileene LaRae Rudolph Glines, died suddenly November 3, 2006, at age 77, of heart failure in the McKay Dee Hospital, Ogden, Utah.
Born in Tetonia, Idaho, October 16, 1929, she was the daughter of Carl FP. Rudolph and Lulu Holt Fullmer. She was sadly without parents at age 11, and at age 14 her loving sister; Grace (9 years her senior) took Eileene to live in Ogden with her. Eileene graduated from Ogden High School.
A stunningly beautiful woman, Eileene worked and modeled for L.R. Samuel's, where she eventually met Lawrence Theodore Glines. The sweethearts were married October 22, 1947, and their love story was featured on the (then famous) Bride And Groom radio program.
Lawrence and Eileene were married 46 years, rearing four children, Stephen (Barbara B.) Glines, Brent Glines, David Glines and Sharon (Larry H.) Hill. Our dad passed away March 7, 1993. Our widowed mother grieved for him deeply, always dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren.
She was a highly intelligent lady and loved reading literature; her vocabulary was exceptional, as she enjoyed studying the English dictionary and those of other languages. She was involved writing herself, particularly science fiction, while owing a home computer, long before it ever became common place. Eileene enjoyed playing bridge and reached the prestigious level of Life-Master.
Although shy by nature, she was sincerely friendly and very inclusive with others. She attended the Golden Hours Center and truly loved bringing donuts faithfully every Wednesday. She also helped decorate the center's foyer.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; a special thanks to Bishop Malan and the 36th Ward, Rushton Heights Relief Society.
Survived by her sister Grace Willard, four children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren (and counting), In addition to her husband, Eileene had been preceded in death by her father, mother and one brother, Sylvan Rudolph.
Friends and family are invited to attend either viewing at Lindquist Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2006, or noon Saturday, November 11, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.
